NURSE JACKIE, which airs every Monday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME, is a half-hour comedy that is at turns wicked, heartbreaking and funny. Edie Falco stars as the title character Jackie Peyton, a strong-willed, brilliant and occasionally flawed emergency room nurse in a complicated New York City hospital. Throwing a wrench in the machine is the young, seemingly perfect, Dr. Fitch “Coop” Cooper (Facinelli) who typifies the smug, Ivy League doctors who have trolled the hospital halls for decades, leaving the nurses to deal with the repercussions of their drive-by diagnoses. Nurse Jackie was honored as one of AFI’s Top Ten Television Programs of 2009.
WEEDS, the network’s highest-rated comedy series premiering on Monday, August 16 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, stars Mary-Louise Parker, Justin Kirk and Kevin Nealon, and follows a woman who finds herself a widow with two children and no visible means of supporting them. She starts dealing marijuana in her neighborhood and quickly finds herself navigating a very different breed of business men. WEEDS has been honored with multiple Emmy® and Golden Globe® nominations, and provides edgy and clever commentary on moral values, race relations, class distinctions and the lengths people go to keep up appearances.
